About The Brand

A Name Founded on One Invention, and Still Built for Life.

Stanley’s story starts in 1913 with William Stanley Jr., the inventor of the all-steel vacuum bottle. The idea at the heart of that invention, that good gear should last, still defines the brand. Its iconic drinkware and gear is built for life, and backed by a lifetime warranty.

That promise has made Stanley a global icon, and the home of the Quencher and the Classic Legendary Bottle.

India was the next place to explore. Taking Stanley direct to consumers meant bringing the full brand experience, the products, the polish and the promise, to a store of the brand’s own, designed for shoppers in India.

One Global Standard. One Indian Shopper. One Store to Bring Them Together.

Give India the Stanley the world knows, built for the way India shops.

The brief arrived with a clear ambition: take Stanley direct to consumers in India with a store that matches the brand’s global flagship and works the way Indian shoppers actually shop.

That ambition had a distinct shape. The store had to feel unmistakably Stanley. It had to work seamlessly on mobile, with UPI and COD as natural payment choices. It had to reach the market on an ambitious timeline. And behind the storefront, orders, shipments and stock needed to move together without anyone reconciling them by hand.

Four priorities defined what that meant in practice.

  • Deliver the same premium experience as Stanley’s global flagship
  • Build for mobile-first traffic, with UPI, COD and a fast checkout
  • Move from kickoff to live on an accelerated timeline
  • Sync orders, shipments and stock automatically from day one

The Challenge

Four Questions That Set the Direction of the Build.

Each one opened a path worth exploring.

01. How Does a Global Standard Feel at Home in India?

India had to deliver the same premium experience as Stanley’s global flagship. That set the bar for every design decision. The store needed to feel like Stanley from the first screen.

02. How Fast Can a Flagship Be Reached Without Losing Its Polish?

The launch timeline was ambitious, and it called for an accelerated build approach. The question was how to move quickly while keeping the quality flagship-grade, which pointed toward building on what already worked.

03. What Does the Indian Shopper Reach for First?

Indian buying behaviour brings mobile-first traffic, demand for UPI and COD, and a preference for fast checkout. The store treated these behaviours as the starting point of the design, not as additions to it.

04. Can the Operations Be Ready Before the First Order?

Orders, shipments and stock had to sync automatically, with no manual reconciliation. That meant the commerce engine behind the store deserved as much design attention as the storefront in front of it.

The Insight

The Fastest Route to a Flagship Was Already Inside Stanley.

The strategy rested on a simple observation. Two of Stanley’s other markets each held something India needed. Stanley Indonesia offered a proven Shopify foundation: a battle-tested, mobile-first APAC build. Stanley US offered the flagship navigation and product page experience that carries the brand’s look and feel.

Between them sat much of what India needed. What remained was the layer only India could supply, which was a store that speaks the language of its own shoppers. Three parts, combined with intent, became one hybrid build.

The Approach

Seven Moves That Charted the Way From Kickoff to Live.

With the direction set, we treated the journey as a series of choices about where to follow routes already proven and where to chart a new one for India. The four requirements, a global standard, an ambitious timeline, Indian buying behaviour and day-one operations, were not handled one after another. Each move below answers more than one of them at once.

  • 01. Starting With One Shared Map: Requirements were understood and aligned in a single discovery cycle, with zero rework. The brand standard, the shopper, the timeline and the operations were looked at together, so each of them could shape the others from the very first conversation.

That shared picture is what allowed the build to move in one direction. Decisions made early held through to launch, with zero rework along the way.

  • 02. Borrowing the Best Routes From Two Stanley Markets: We took Stanley Indonesia’s Shopify theme as the base, bringing a mobile-first build already battle-tested in the APAC region. For a store with mobile-first traffic, starting from a foundation proven on mobile meant the build time could go into what was new for India.

Stanley US supplied the header and the product detail page. Navigation and product pages are where shoppers find their way and weigh their choices, so bringing the flagship version across meant India carried the same experience the brand presents globally.

  • 03. Learning the Local Terrain, Touchpoint by Touchpoint: On top of that foundation sits the layer only India could supply. Pricing is shown in INR and is GST-inclusive. Pincode checks are in place. COD is available as a payment choice, and the store supports Indian addresses.

Each of these is a small detail, and together they change how the store feels. They are what turn a global foundation into a store that behaves like it was made for the shopper using it.

  • 04. Clearing the Way to Checkout: Indian shoppers prefer a fast checkout, and a seamless one is a key driver of conversion. Checkout was therefore treated as part of the core design, not as the last step added to it.

Razorpay Magic Checkout powers the payment experience, with one-click checkout for returning shoppers. It is also the first link in the order-to-delivery chain, where a one-click payment sets everything after it in motion.

  • 05. Keeping Every Shopper Inside the Stanley World: Customer accounts run on Shopify-native sign-up and login. Shoppers create and use their accounts inside the store itself, so the journey from browsing to account to order stays within the Stanley experience.

Alongside this, multiple bespoke storefront features were built to suit two things at once: Stanley’s brand standards and the Indian shopper. The brand stays recognisable, and the store stays useful to the person using it.

  • 06. Connecting Every Stop From Click to Doorstep: The operations behind the store were designed as one connected route. Razorpay takes the payment. Shopify creates the order. Unicommerce manages stock and the order itself. ClickPost handles the courier and tracking, until the order is delivered to the customer.

Stock updates, order status and tracking sync automatically across every one of these platforms. Live inventory sync prevents overselling, and no manual order reconciliation is needed at any point along the way.

  • 07. Mapping the Journey for Data-Driven Marketing: Full-funnel tracking was configured through Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager. This gives the brand a view of how shoppers move through the store, which is the foundation for marketing that is guided by data.

Seen together, the seven moves follow one logic: build on what has already been proven, adapt wherever India is different, and connect everything so the store runs itself. That is how a premium storefront and a fully automated commerce engine arrived together in under a month.
