About the brand

Clean Air Is Not a Feature. At MedicAir, It Has Always Been the Commitment.

MedicAir is the UK’s leading air purifier brand, built on cutting-edge technology and a commitment to dependable, measurable performance. The product range is designed to serve every home and office, making cleaner and healthier air accessible to everyone who lives and works within its reach.

The brand’s positioning does not rely on marketing claims. It is backed by the consistency of what its products deliver: real, reliable improvement in air quality, engineered for the environments people care about most.

That same standard for performance and reliability shaped every decision in this engagement. MedicAir had the product strength. The question this project set out to answer was whether the digital platform was doing full justice to it.

The Brief

A Platform Built to Perform as Dependably as the Products Behind It.

The brief came with sharp direction and a single clear ambition: build a platform that matched the standard MedicAir had already set in the UK market.

Not a patch on what existed. A complete rebuild that moved beyond WooCommerce’s performance ceiling, gave UK customers a shopping experience as effortless as the products they were buying, and protected every search ranking and data record the brand had spent years earning. The platform had to justify its place alongside the product. That was the brief.

The Challenges

Five Platform Evolution Points. Each One a Strategic Move Toward a Stronger Digital Standard

Five specific evolution opportunities shaped the platform architecture from the very first conversation.

01. Scaling Past the Performance Ceiling of the Existing Platform:

The WooCommerce infrastructure had reached its ceiling, with bottlenecks, slow load times, and intermittent downtime creating friction at the exact moments customers were ready to engage. Moving to an architecture built to absorb traffic growth without degrading the experience was the first and most foundational call of the build.

02. Modernising a Digital Interface That Had Grown Beyond Its Design:

MedicAir’s product quality deserved a presence that matched it. The existing interface had become cluttered and outdated, and the opportunity was to rebuild the entire visual and interaction experience into something that reflected the brand’s market position and made product discovery feel effortless.

03. Removing the Friction That Was Costing Conversions at Checkout:

A lengthy checkout was driving abandonment at precisely the point where customer intent was highest. A shopper who has already chosen the right air purifier should encounter nothing between that decision and completing the purchase, and streamlining that path was a direct, addressable opportunity.

04. Migrating a Complete Data Ecosystem Without Losing a Single Record:

Moving platforms meant moving everything: the full product catalogue, all customer records, and the complete order history. Doing that without data loss and without disrupting operational continuity required a precision-led audit and migration process built around accuracy at every stage.

05. Protecting the Organic Search Position MedicAir Had Spent Years Building:

An established UK brand carries search equity that takes years to build. A migration without a rigorous SEO strategy risks losing rankings that directly support commercial results, and ensuring every URL was mapped and every redirect was live before launch was as commercially significant as any feature in the build.

The Approach

The Approach Was Simple. Build It to the Standard MedicAir’s Customers Already Expect:

Before a single page was redesigned or a single integration was scoped, we mapped every platform requirement against MedicAir’s commercial objectives. Five decisions defined the build from architecture through to launch.

01. WooCommerce Had Reached Its Ceiling. Shopify Was Built to Go Beyond It:

Shopify replaced WooCommerce as MedicAir’s commerce foundation, delivering stronger reliability, lower operational overhead, and an architecture built to scale with the brand’s growth. Shopify’s CDN was activated from launch, directly addressing the load performance issues that had been introducing friction into the customer experience.

02. The Redesign Started Mobile-First. The Interface That Came Out Finally Matched the Brand:

The entire interface was rebuilt mobile-first, with a clean aesthetic matched to MedicAir’s premium positioning. Navigation was simplified, product filtering was enhanced so customers could find the right purifier quickly, and checkout was streamlined to remove every unnecessary step between product selection and confirmed order.

03. Every Product, Order, and Customer Record Was Audited. Not One Was Lost in the Migration:

We conducted a structured audit of all existing WooCommerce data before migration began, using specialist tools to transfer the complete product catalogue, all customer records, and the full order history without losing a single entry. MedicAir’s team launched on Shopify with complete confidence in the integrity of the data behind the platform.

04. Every URL Remapped. Every 301 Redirect Live Before the Platform Launched:

Every MedicAir URL was mapped to its Shopify equivalent and every 301 redirect was implemented before the platform went live. Shopify’s built-in SEO capabilities were used to reinforce existing search performance, so MedicAir launched with its organic rankings intact rather than in recovery.

05. Every Layer Tested Before Go-Live. The Platform Launched Only When Every Standard Was Met:

The platform was tested across every layer before release: product pages, navigation paths, payment processes, and the full user experience on both mobile and desktop. It went live only when every test was passed and every standard was confirmed.

Built to Scale

The Foundation Is in Place. What Comes Next Is the Interesting Part.

MedicAir enters its next stage of digital growth on a platform designed for it. Subscription commerce through RecurPay, customer engagement through Klaviyo, order management through Mintsoft, and accounting through Unicommerce are all live in the operational layer. The infrastructure is there. The platform scales as the brand does. What MedicAir builds on it from here is where the real story continues.
