About the Brand

Six Decades of Innovation. One Consistent Philosophy. A Brand That Builds With Purpose.

For over 60 years, Godrej Appliances has been one of India’s leading home appliances brands, built on a commitment to energy efficiency, water conservation, and eco-friendly design. The brand’s philosophy, #SochKeBanayaHai, is not a tagline. It is the operating logic behind every product that carries the Godrej name. When extreme summer conditions created demand for more capable cooling solutions, Godrej responded with a 5-Year Comprehensive Warranty Free on Air Conditioners and AI Powered Cooling Refrigerators.

The brand enters every market moment not by reacting to it but by reading it more carefully than the competition does. These were not reactive product decisions. They were the result of a brand that consistently looks ahead of the brief it is handed. The Jan Art Sale campaign was an expression of exactly that instinct.

The Brief

The Brief Came to Us With Three Objectives and One Underlying Commercial Question.

The brief came to us at a moment when the home appliances category on Amazon was becoming sharper and more contested by the season. Three objectives gave the engagement its shape.

  • Brand Visibility: Increasing presence and share of voice in a competitive display environment where attention is abundant but earned only by the most relevant, well-crafted creatives.
  • Increase CTRs: Boosting Click-Through Rates to move beyond passive impressions and into genuine product consideration among high-intent shoppers during the Republic Day sale period.
  • Market Penetration: Positioning Godrej Appliances among the top five brands in the category, with particular focus on scaling the AC and high-capacity Refrigerator segments.

What made this brief worth building something original for was the way the three objectives fed into one another. Visibility without clicks is exposure with no return. Clicks without purchase rate are traffic without transaction. All three had to move together. The complete arc of e-commerce advertising, compressed into one campaign window.

The Insight

The Republic Day Sale Window Was Not Just a Calendar Event. It Was a Behavioral Signal Worth Decoding.

The insight was sitting at the intersection of two things most brands treat separately.

The first was behavioral: The Republic Day sale period concentrates purchase intent in a way few other calendar windows do. Budgets allocated, comparisons narrowed, decisions nearly made. That level of intent arrives in a window, and the window is short.

The second was cultural: Republic Day carries an emotional temperature no other sale event does. National pride. Shared celebration. Most brands think about reach. The more interesting question was whether a campaign could be both commercially urgent and culturally resonant, without either quality diluting the other.

That intersection was the creative territory worth mapping. It turned out to be exactly where the results came from.

The Challenge

A Competitive Marketplace. A Short Sale Window. Three Dimensions That Had to Be Solved Simultaneously.

Scaling Godrej Appliances’ performance on Amazon within a defined sale period required working through three dimensions of strategic complexity at the same time.

01. Building Brand Recall in a High-Competition Display Environment

Shoppers on Amazon are already in buying mode. The path forward was not a louder presence but a more precisely relevant one: creatives that met shoppers exactly where they were in their purchase consideration, not ones that competed for attention as an end in itself.

02. Converting Engagement into Measurable Commerce Outcomes

Every display creative on Amazon is operating inside a decision moment. The creative either accelerates the next step or it does not. Lower engagement and click rates pointed to an opportunity in the creative execution: build creatives that accelerate the decision rather than ones that introduce friction at exactly the moment a shopper is ready to move.

03. Driving Aggressive Category Growth for ACs and High-Capacity Refrigerators

Two categories. Two distinct purchase contexts. One creative strategy that needed to serve both without diluting either. The AC and Refrigerator segments were priority growth areas, with a specific mandate to grow high-capacity Refrigerators alongside Air Conditioners, across the same display formats, without fragmenting the Godrej Appliances presence on platform.

The Approach

One Sale Window. One Cultural Moment. Four Creative Decisions That Built a System.

We built the approach around the intersection of Republic Day sentiment, product-led messaging, and format-specific creative precision. Every decision was traceable to one of three objectives: brand coherence, cultural relevance, or conversion performance. Four dimensions gave the strategy its structure.

01. Aligning the Sale with the Sentiment: The Jan Art Sale and the Republic Day Framework

The January Art Sale was designed to align with Republic Day celebrations, using the cultural resonance of the moment to elevate what might otherwise have been a standard promotional display. By anchoring the campaign in patriotic sentiment and value-driven deals on appliances, the creative carried both an emotional register and a commercial reason to act. The alignment was not decorative. It shaped the creative brief from the ground up and gave every subsequent execution a clear centre of gravity.

02. Visual Intelligence: The Indian Tricolour as a Design System

We set ourselves a specific creative challenge here: integrate the Indian tricolour into the advertising environment while maintaining full consistency with Godrej Appliances’ brand identity and aesthetic guidelines. The answer was in the environment itself rather than in literal flag imagery:

  • Saffron: Represented through the sky and sun, visible through the window framing within the product environment.
  • White: Expressed through fencing elements and architectural details within the frame.
  • Green: Incorporated through grass reflections and natural foliage in the background setting.

What came out of that process was a set of creatives that felt distinctly Indian, distinctly festive, and distinctly Godrej at the same time. That triple alignment is rarer in display advertising than it sounds, and it is what made the creative earn attention rather than merely occupy space.

03. Product Messaging Built Around Genuine Differentiators

Every textual element was chosen to reflect a real product decision Godrej had made: energy efficiency, AI Powered Cooling, 5-Year Comprehensive Warranty Free on Air Conditioners, Up to 30% Off. Each message was selected because it would matter to a shopper actively comparing options. The creative trusted the product to do the work. That trust is visible in the results.

Post-2024, the Air Conditioner creatives continued to evolve, foregrounding energy efficiency, superior performance, and elegant aesthetics, with products showcased in realistic lifestyle settings that kept the product as the central character in every frame.

04. Format Strategy: Deploying the Campaign at the Right Moment in the Shopper Journey

The campaign was deployed across a format mix chosen for its alignment with different stages of the Amazon shopper journey:

  • Native Ads: Placed the brand within the natural browsing experience, meeting shoppers at the discovery phase rather than interrupting it.
  • ATF and BTF Slots: Gave the brand presence across the full page, building recall at the first moment of exposure and sustaining it through the consideration phase.
  • 3P Remarketing: Re-engaged shoppers who had already demonstrated category interest, using creative continuity to bring them back into the conversion funnel at the right moment.
  • Quad Card Format: Provided an expanded canvas for product display and messaging that standard formats could not match. This placement delivered the campaign’s highest-performing result: a 3.31% CTR for air conditioners.
